Thrilling Adventure Hour
Video

“Love Ain’t No Billy Goat”: Are there truer words? We think not. We closed all of our NY shows with this unforgettable earworm written by Jonathan Coulton.

Here’s the double-version from our final NY show at the Bell House in Brooklyn, featuring Paul F. Tompkins, Paget Brewster, Callie Thorne, Hal Lublin, Mark Gagliardi, Janet Varney, Brian Stack, Jenna Stern, Jennifer Marie Kelly, Alex Hirsch, John Hodgman, and Ted Leo on guitar.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support us last week at NY Comic Con. As always, we had an absolute blast. Thanks to Danielle Davis and her Ladykiller crew for making it easy, all of our Adventurekateer volunteers, everyone at our venues Mary Flagler Cary Hall, Littlefield, and (our home away from home), The Bell House. Thanks to Cayenne Chris Conroy for whipping up the great sound effects.
And of course, thanks to everyone who played in our New York shows: Marc Evan Jackson, Paul F. Tompkins, Paget Brewster, Mark Gagliardi, Janet Varney, Hal Lublin, Craig Cackowski, John Hodgman, Scott Adsit, Jean Grae, Carla Cackowski, Alex Hirsch, Brian Stack, Jenna Stern, Callie Thorne, Jennifer Marie Kelly, Jackson Publick, Jerry Lacy, Julia Duffy, and musical guests Ted Leo and Jonathan Coulton.

Marc Evan Jackson turned the camera on the audience for the finale of the second Sparks Nevada show on Friday night. Please enjoy. Pow!

Beyond Belief from the April Fool’s Day Show

This is crazy! On April 1, 2015, two weeks before our final monthly show, some WorkJuice Players and friends gathered at Largo for the “April Fool’s Day Funaround,” an evening of classic Thrilling Adventure Hour scripts performed in a wild style. Hosted by Paul F. Tompkins as “K of the Cosmos,” names were randomly assigned on stage, in the moment. Part of the fun was the various degrees of familiarity with the show. While the WorkJuice Players in attendance–PFT, Marc Evan Jackson, Craig Cackowski, Autumn Reeser, Busy Philipps, Annie Savage, Hal Lublin, Janet Varney, and John Hodgman–know the show very well, as do frequent guests John Ross Bowie, Lauren Lapkus, Andrew Daly, Mark McConville, and Michael McMillian, it was an insane introduction to the world of TAH for Ben Schwartz and Felicia Day.

This April Fool’s Funaround is a show we talked about doing for years, and it turned out to be as much fun as we’d hoped it would be. Don’t be surprised if we do it again sometime.

In the meantime, if you like silly, unscripted business starring the WorkJuice Players, please join us in New York on October 8 for the WorkJuice Improv Experience featuring PFT, Hal, Craig, Janet, Mark Gagliardi, and more, and guest monologist Jean Grae!
