Since January of 2011, we’ve independently been releasing the Thrilling Adventure Hour podcast on both SoundCloud and iTunes. That is about to change! Beginning Monday, October 10th, the Thrilling Adventure Hour joins the Nerdist podcasting network. This is a network created by our pal and frequent guest star, Chris Hardwick, and run by Chris and his crack team of podcast Oompa Loompas. We have been fans of the shows on the Nerdist network since its inception, including Chris’ pod with Jonah Ray and Matt Mira, “the Todd Glass Show,” “the Nerdist Writers Panel,” and “Making It with Riki Lindhome.” There is an enthusiasm and positivity reflected in the pods cast on the Nerdist network. These are pods not of snarkiness or cynicism but whose comedy comes from like-minded people joining together to create the kinds of shows they want to see. This was the same impetus for the creation of the Thrilling Adventure Hour.
More than six years later, we’re still making the show we want to watch. By teaming with the smart, funny, enthusiastic, nerdy nerds at Nerdist Industries, we’re able to bring that show to even more listeners! We used to begin our shows by winkingly asserting that “radio is the king of all media.” With all of the podcasts now available, the irony seems to have disappeared from that statement. We are in the midst of a creative boom in audio entertainment, and we believe that Nerdist Industries is at the forefront of this revolution. We are proud to be released under their banner. The passions and perspectives of we at the “WorkJuice Corp” (and our fans) are closely aligned with those at Nerdist Industries. From the oral tradition to the new aural tradition we’re all inventing as we go along, we look forward to a long and exciting partnership with Nerdist Industries.
For the time being, you don’t need to change a thing. If you already subscribe to the Thrilling Adventure Hour podcast via iTunes or listen on SoundCloud, you may keep your subscription. We will continue to post on SoundCloud and iTunes for the rest of 2011. If you don’t yet subscribe to the podcast, please do! We’re very proud of it. And starting next week, you can subscribe at Nerdist.com.
Along with this change of provider, in the next few months, you can look forward to a revamp of our website, new merchandise (including new posters and DECODER RINGS!), and a weekly “commentary” by Acker & Blacker and cast members on that week’s podcast (posted both on our website and the Nerdist site).
We thank you for your continued support of the Thrilling Adventure Hour podcast and live show. We are entering into exciting times at the WorkJuice Corporation, and we’re glad to have you along for the ride.
